ABOUT US
The success of Summit Survey Research can be contributed to the expert consultants who make up each project team. Our consultants hold decades of expertise from a diverse set of research backgrounds including public health, transportation, community-based research, education, unhoused population studies, and food insecurity, among many other areas.
Sara Strickhouser (PhD, Sociology) founded Summit Survey Research with the goal of connecting academic-caliber research methods to agencies and businesses that drive our communities. Dr. Strickhouser has over ten years of experience in social science, survey research, and community-based research and evaluation and has worked closely with many nonprofit and government agencies, assisting them with scientifically measuring program success and turning survey results into actionable steps. She previously taught statistics, research methods, and Sociology of Health at Western Washington University.
Her areas of expertise include: survey design, sampling methods, and advanced statistics.

Kathi Ackerman Porter (MPH) joined Summit Survey Research as lead community health researcher. Kathi has over ten years of experience in public health research and community-based participatory research methodology. Prior to joining SSR, Kathi served as Research Public Health Analyst at RTI International and Senior Associate at UNICEF, USA.
Her areas of expertise include health topics such as maternal and child health, adolescent health, rare diseases, and patient experience.
